No special equipment needed! All you need is a laptop or computer with an internet connection, audio, and a webcam. Everything else happens on our live, interactive online platform.

We get it, that’s a common concern. But most students find it easy to focus because they’re already familiar with tech-based learning. Plus, our personalised sessions, engaging tutors, and interactive tools keep your child involved and progressing with confidence.

Often, it’s even better. With expert tutors, real-time sessions, personalised learning, and our smart A.I. platform tracking every interaction, we make sure every student gets a consistent, high-quality experience. You also get full access to reports and session recordings so you’re always in the loop. And you have flexibility and control over when you have your tutoring sessions.

Very interactive! Each session is a two-way conversation between your child and their tutor. They’ll work through theory, examples, and practice questions together – no passive screen-watching here. Our tutoring platform encourages high levels of engagement and focus for students in both primary and secondary.

It depends on your child’s needs and the tailored learning programme we design. We’re flexible – you can increase or reduce sessions as needed. No lock-in contracts either. Once we understand your goals, we’ll recommend a package that suits your family.

Absolutely! You’ll start off on our Saver plan, with your first two sessions discounted. The Saver plan comes with great value and requires just two sessions’ notice to cancel – there’s no long term commitment at Cluey. If you’ve already chosen to change to one of our other great value plans, you’ll be moved to that plan after you’ve completed your first two sessions and billed accordingly.

We offer sessions every day of the week – from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday. You choose the time that suits you best.

No formal tests here. Instead, we jump into tutoring and use every session to understand where your child is at. Our tutors continuously assess progress and adapt the programme as needed—what we call “continuous assessment.”

It depends on your child’s learning needs and their current level of knowledge. We recommend once a week to start with and reassessing as your child progresses.

After each tutoring session, your tutor will share a report highlighting topics covered in the session, areas your child did well in or needed extra help with, and their overall progress. You can access these reports and session recordings at any time. If you have any concerns, you can discuss these with the tutor at the start or end of a session or connect with our Customer Care team.

We select only the best – just 6% of tutor applicants make it through a rigorous selection process. Our tutors are based across New Zealand and Australia and include qualified teachers, top achievers, and subject matter experts. They’re supported, reviewed and trained regularly to ensure consistent quality.

Yes. Once we’ve matched the student to the best available tutor, we’ll share their profile. You can also read about our tutors on our website.

That’s our goal! We aim to keep your tutor consistent. If something changes, like availability, we’ll match we’ll match you with another great tutor and ensure they are fully across your child’s progress. We keep in touch regularly to discuss your tutor preferences, and any potential changes.

Yes, it’s fully mapped to the New Zealand curriculum and reflects what your child is covering in school. 

Yes. From your child’s very first session, their tutor will assess strengths, gaps, and goals. We then tailor our learning content to your child’s needs and adapt our approach after every session to reflect their growth.
