Year 3 English
In Year 3, students are developing their reading skills and using a range of strategies to recognise and decode words. They are learning to understand the range of purposes and audiences for spoken and written language and also learning to create their own texts for specific purposes and audiences. They are also learning to reflect on and assess their own writing and that of others.

Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.
English Tutoring Program Based on the Curriculum
Cluey's Primary English learning programmes are based on the New Zealand Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.

University Student (Masters of Counselling)
English: Primary, Intermediate & Secondary
Dianne is currently completing her Master of Counselling while volunteering as a teacher's aide. She is particularly good at offering support to struggling or reluctant learners. Dianne has extensive English tutoring experience to students in primary, secondary and senior secondary years.
Natiq
University Student (Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts)
English: Primary, Intermediate & Secondary
Natiq completed his Higher School Certificate in 2016, achieving an ATAR of 99. He then went on to complete his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in Politics and International Relations) in 2017. In 2018 he commenced his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in International Relations) at the University of New South Wales. He has been tutoring since 2017. Natiq works closely with his students to assist with their essay writing and textual analysis.
Zachary
University Student (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
Mathematics: Primary & Intermediate

Zachary completed his Year 12 certificate with an ATAR of 94.00. He studied and completed an Associate in Arts Degree and he recently graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science). Zachary is currently studying a Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery. He has vast experience tutoring Math and English. Zachary strives to develop positive relationships with his students to manage behaviour and facilitate student growth and achievement, both personally and academically.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
